The mirror tells a story of our past, who we remember ourselves to have been.
The lines and creases tell me I was once young. That I was once somewhere else. Once someone else. Photographs do the same. We think of them as documentary objects, but they only capture a slice of a moment. Years later they exist as questions, not documents. Did we really look that way back then?
I’ve tried to capture that feeling of nostalgia and age in these photographs.
