Messengers
Sometimes it seems like an image is a messenger, trying to convey something deeper from a place beyond consciousness.
They are images that immediately grab me. Flipping through the import from a shoot I typically flag images to come back to for evaluation. But the messengers stop me in my tracks, and demand a deeper intention. That was the case for these two. The metal creases and lighting create a set of wings, dark and leathery, on the model. She becomes something other-worldly, both beautiful and terrifying. Perhaps an angel of death? We fear the end so intensely in western culture, death comes for us all at some point. Hopefully the messenger is beautiful and gentle as they lead us from this world.
Happy Halloween!
