It might seem that I have taken a break from the metal mirror work, what with all of the large format film work I’ve been posting lately. But that is definitely not the case!
Dualities of Form
I’ve definitely been keeping busy with the mirrors. The irony of a successful photography session is that I end up with a ton of images to work on, so it takes awhile to post them. Lately I’ve been experimenting with the creases in the mirrors and how light seems to behave differently on either side of them resulting in dualities of the form. The body changes and is split on either side of the divide- two parts of a whole that are codependent on each other for completion. The image reveals dualities in time, of past and present, of what will be and what is. Dualities of the corpus- the broken and the healed, the lost and rebuilt- are present as well. I’ll be posting more over the next few days, but here are few to start.
