I find than my artistic vision is evolving, especially as I create and view more art.  I was going through some older work and I found some things that had initially not made the cut for my portfolio, but that I now see in a new way.  More after the jump:

A call for entry came out for Abstract images.  It’s right up my alley and I have a lot of material to choose from, but something compelled me to go back through the archives  Maybe it was the experience that I talked about here.  Or maybe I just felt like browsing.  Regardless, I came across two images that had originally not made my final cut, but now I could see potential that was invisible to me before.

Very little was changed in these from the originals- really just a tighter crop and conversion to black and white.  But the resulting photographs are much stronger.  The images become more abstract- studies of shape, form and light- than the original images were.  It has taken a while, but I’m starting to see differently.
